Well when I got this 929, I noticed there was a dent in the frame where the bar end hit it. its not that big, but Im going to powder coat everthing and it will stand out. I was thinking of filling it in with JB weld or liquid metal, then coat over that, does anyone know how I can pull this dent out, or rough it up so i can get the filler to hold so it wont fall out later???
Thanks guys

Must have been some serious front end damage to that bike in order to put the bar end even close to the frame. The bar end should be above the frame. And the steering stoppers should stop it way before it even gets close to anywhere near the frame. I just wanna know how in the hell that happened. My looking at my 929, i'd say someone had the clipons mounted real low, maybe even flipped 636 clippons. But still in all, the steering stopers should have stopped them, unless those broke or someone shaved them (dunno why they would shave them though)....=-)

guy had the clip ons lowered. then when it laid on its left side, the clip on bent up and tapped the frame. neck and suspension is perfect, just bent the clip on. Its replaced and well not on because IM going to powdercoat evrything myself, but thats how it happened. so I have been told. It looks like it hit, but it could of been something else. Who knows, I just need to get it filled in so I can coat it this weekend.

Well its aluminum, so it shoudlnt be hard to find something to bond to it really good. I would say try some JB feld on it. Maybe have to sand it down after it hardens, so u can smooth it out, but that may work. I'd do a little research on it, see what they make they bonds real good with aluminum.....Good things come to those who wait. Dont rush urself, IF u want it done right....=-)

yeah. I decided to use lab metal from Columbia coatings.. It bond to any metal. it uses layers.. and it stays better than JB weld. plus its made to hold up under the heat. I not looking for something smooth for I am using a black mini texture. kinda like the newer black frames that have a slight tex. i did it to my 900RR with great results.
I'll let ya'll know what happens.. I just have to find the rest of my lab metal. lol
