I was thinking of to running HID's in my bike I know it will help out but has anyone every have need problem with running them on a bike I know i'll have to mount them nice and tight!

All I know is the bulb is an H7. I have heard (on this site) of people installing them and not having any problems. Maybe someone will see this who has a first hand account.

 

I have had them in mine for 3rd season coming up with no problems at all.

Yeah I just didn't want them to fail on me if I installed the HID I heard people say they failed a lot on bikes!

Plus I always deal with DDM tuning for my cars with HID kits great company too!

You looking to do this on a 929 or which motorcycle?? If just low-beam on the 929, a 35W, H7, WHATEVER K, is only $25.00 less shipping(DDM). I thought about doing this, but I have to get my headlight working first. I don't like the fact I will have to buy 3 bulbs, but it's only like $65.00 less shipping(DDM). Good luck and if you get it for the 929, post up a guide/how-to. It seems easy, just basic plug and play.

 

I'm going to install this in my 929 but I was just thinking of installing it just to the low beam I think it would be just good enough with the HID installed !

Plus I'll have a write up with pictures on how to install them in time !

 

Sounds good.. I helped my neighbor install his on his R1 and it took about 10 mins total for everything. Hardest part was getting slim ballast "mounted" somewhere.

 

As soon as I get the spare cash I'm going to get the 3 HID's for lo/hi beams on mine. Probably going to put the ballast under the intake covers. I'm really stoked about it. That way when I paint my bike black I can put a l light tint on the head light to get the "murdered out" look I am trying to achieve.

Once I get the HID's I plan to do a detailed "HOW TO:" on the install, if there isn't one up by then.

As far as where to get them I would go with DDM Tuning. You can get lo's or hi's, and for what i'm wanting to do it's like 65.00 which is super cheap for the systems at 8K 35W. I know if you do 55W your going to get a blueish/purple look. Had a buddy that had 8K 55W on a '03 R1, they were STUPID bright but not as clear and vivid as 8K/35W.

I was thinking of to install the HID's for the high beams too but to hide all the ballest with the low beam seem like a lot to hide if I have enough room I'll do them all !

Plus I going with the 6k/35w when I install them .

 

I ran a slim kit and zip tied the ballast up underneath the windscreen. no problems here and looks great, tons of light at night.

I wouldn't recommend installing them in the high beams though as hid's take about 10 seconds to fully heat up and that's not long enough for the 'around town' stuff i'm used to. plus the halogen brights are plenty bright
