Default 929RE won't start! Help!!

Ok here's the thing. I've got an 01 929re that i'm fixing up to ride this spring. The bike was running great until today when i got ready to test drive it down the road. When i fired it up it ran fine, then i starterd to take off and it seemed like it ran out of gas or something. Gas is full by the way.(just filled it up with 93 and some sea foam) I tried to fire it back up and it tried to start then died again. I tried again and this time gave it about half throttle and it started and ran very rough. But it would die if i let out of the throttle. It will spit and sputter as long as i'm holding the throttle open. Any ideas what might be causing this. It's showing a fault code 12 which is the No.1 injector. Would this cause it not to run.

A bad injector will cause lots of problems. Usually they are all wired to the same +12V and the ecu uses the grounds to fire them. If one is fried it could cause problems with the others. Check the injector by unplugging it and using an ohm meter across the terminals. It should be somewhere in the 12-16ohm range for a high impedance injector. The manual will say the exact reading you should get. If everything is fine on all 4, swap it with no.2 and see if the code changes to the no.2 injector. If it does the injector is screwy, but if it stays on no.1 then it's a wiring thing. Hope that helps a little.
