Default 929 velocity stacks : worth it?

hello all i am relatively new to this site and i was wondering if any one has used any type of velocity stacks on their bike and if there even worth investing in, i have a 2001 cbr 929 with 28,000 miles,k and n filter, full hindle exhaust, power commander 3, 520 conversion with 1 down in the front and 2 up rear, would i even benefit from velocity stacks or are the just a waste of money

id say no, only because i own a set and am currently running them on my 01 929 as well.

i say no because of the cost per horse power value and what you get for the amount spent.

im not didpleased with them but i dont think they made a real huge gain in power either

they do sound good with the flapper mod done and the honest truth is they might help you get back some of the lost horse power you dropped by running a K&N filter.

now you should go vote for my bike in the ride of the month section

lol

thanks for the input i wont bother dropping the dime on those, ill spend that money elsewhere, as for what you said about my k and n filter, does it cost power? when i got the bike it was already installed so i just left it in there.

well according to the experts of this forum and i am not one but there has been dyno test that show that the K&N causes a drop in hp as compaired to the stock filter, i am running a BMC filter and they make 2 versions, race and street and they are of better construction than the K&N filter

now my opinion on the v stacks may not be 100% accurate but the reason i bought mine was because i got a good deal on them, i didnt notice any negative side effects but its hard to feel a 2-3 increase or drop with a butt dyno plus i dont do dyno runs after each mod either as one should do if they want accurate readings
