Hi, I am not getting spark on any coils of my 929. I have done several tests and ignition pulse generator checks out, coils and plugs are good, ecm is a known good one. I was wondering if it is at all possible that a bad stator would cause a no spark issue on this bike?

 

No. Stator would not cause a no spark. A lot of race bikes don't even use a stator

What have you done to the motorcycle recently? Is the bike priming when you turn the ignition on? It sounds like something unplugged to be honest

 

Yes it primes when i turn ignition on. Nothing unplugged, all connections seem to be good. I was thinking maybe stator because without it I thought maybe the volts were dropping too much to produce a spark?

 

Stator charges the battery. If you aren't getting many volts from the battery. Try charging/jumping. Also, the r/r may have failed.

 

Battery has plenty of power, I have been keeping it charged. What about the cam pulse generator? When I tested that it had <.7 volts while cranking so I replaced it and now the new one tests the same? Could this be my problem, something causing low voltage from the cam pulse generator? The ignition pulse generator tests out fine at about .9 volts while cranking.

 

That sounds like normal voltage for the cam pulse generator via the shop manual.

 

Cam pulse generator should be at least .7 and I am getting less than .7, more like .5 max.

 

Do you have injector pulse?

Is the bike stock? Any alarms or anything?

 

Yes, injector pulse reads ok, is about .9 when cranking. Bike is stock, no alarms or anything. Is there anything besides the cam pulse generator that could cause the cam pulse generator to be giving a low voltage.

 

You need to use a noid light, or equivalent, to see if your fuel injectors are firing. The 12v power and pulse signals at the injectors are the same circuits as the coils.
