YOU are a CBR 900rr....

my cbr would say, "either 1000RR 08+ or Imma choke right here and you cant get back home" that is, of course, after we reach the furthest most remote strech of road from the house.

thanks guys, I haven't written anything like that since high school English class. I guess we are more than just a bunch of gear heads. Maybe we should get together at a cafe' and have CBR poetry hour?......Ha, just kidding. This is a really cool thread, and you hit the nail right on the head Wallet when you pointed out how your going to be a mirror image of everyone else on the road today. I pull up to some places and people have no idea what kind of bike I am riding. Granted there is no badging, but still, its just got a look that is totally unique and great from any angle. The oversized tank alone usually just gets people shaking their head. Save your money (thousands for a new bike) and add a few go fast parts and enjoy kickin *** with a bike thats more than a decade old. Resist keeping up with the Joneses and polish your skills on a bike that will never limit you, short of open track racing. Nothing beats a CBR! And I don't have to remind any of you that we all rule for owning one, and keeping these classics on the road. Take it easy fellas.

And as for CBR poetry time.... next thread?
Yes Fighty had put it very nice, sarcastic and yet full with facts.
And MT... life goes on. You can't throw all those good memories of your 900 from your mind, it will live with you! Though I love my 900 very much, I will upgrade to a newer one when I'm financially ready. And I can say till date the 900 is simply the best bike I owned. A busa or R1 will be badass MT!

Not in the position of considering type of bikes seriously; its the price. Of course I'm flattered with the new fireblade but in Malaysia the price is higher than a zx10r almost 20k and that is around usd7k.
Maybe will opt for a newer good condition of any literbikes in the future but I'm kinda getting uncomfortable these days especially during long distances. Worried of safety too; its not easy to forgo and ride calmly especially on the twisties. A hayabusa can be a best bet too.

I'm no poet, that's pushing the creative envelope. Its too bad that dealerships don't allow test rides, at least they don't in my area. I understand the liability issue but it would be really cool to take a few bikes for a spin. I truly cannot imagine the power an R1, GSXR100, and Hayabusa must have. I usually chicken out around 130 on my bike and I know thats just the beginning for the newer liter bikes. Has anyone here ever thrown a leg over the new ZX14? That thing is a friggin animal. I was at the bar last weekend and some moron pulls up on one of those and then proceeds to down around 4 beers. I had to say something, so as he was walking by me in route to the bike I asked him if I should call the ambulance now. He laughed it off, but he was truly insane and I am not sure I will see him again. I know the topic gets thrown around once in a while but if any one of us put 3 grand down on a turbo system nothing short of the Y2K Jet Bike would be able to keep up. The suspension would surely need to be upgraded, but its some food for thought. Anyway, keep saving the greenbacks guys and take a look into the used market this time of year, plenty of sweet deals. Me, I would take the CBR 1000 just out of loyalty and looks, who needs to do 200MPH anyway?

Boy, would I like to ride one just to say I did.
But seriously Dinez, I don't have any plans soon to sell this bike. I want to keep it forever.
Just like you, I am sure.
I feel the same. Where am I gonna be able to ride 200 mph?
My island is so small, I can only ride in circles!
I hope that rider made it home, ok. Some people can drink and still ride I guess, but I would never recommend it. [&o]
Speaking of new bikes My friend just bought a new, 2008 GSXR 750 and I wonder how it compares to my '93 900rr.
My bike has a few mods, but that 750 is a very powerful bike I hear. [&o][:-]

Let us know how it goes with the gsx750. I'm pretty sure your 900 will give a run for your friend's money!

I really hope my bike can keep up and hopefully pass it on the straightaways.
I am sure our 900rr's have way more torque than even the mighty 750's.
Once on the freeway at 50 mph, I gave the bike some downshift and hammered the throttle. I felt the front end getting very light, like the front wheel wanted to lift off the ground.
I have never had that sensation from a bike before, only the 900rr
