Default Wireharness Interchangeable??

My wireharrnees has been hacked quite a bit from the previos owner(s). Im gonna go ahead and buy a used 1 from ebay or maybe local if I can find 1. My question is are they plug and play from 95-97?

My bike is a 95 with a 96-7 919 motor with tps. I got a harness from a 96 for it. I'm not sure if running wiyhout it would be good or bad

I verified it does have the 3 point TPS connector and it did have all the right color wires going to the CDI but it seems like they are in different locations than the diagram in the manual. Anyone have any tips for when I switch the harness out? This will b my first time changeing a wireharness on a bike, done a few on cars.

When I swithed mine out, I didn't pull the old harness out until I was ready to put the new one in back in its spot. For example, I puled the harness thru the frame on the right side (leaving the old one in beside it still) then connected all the wiring underneath the seat and in the subframe, then pulled the old wiring out. Then I connected the wires for the coils and tps, and pulled the old wiring out. Then I connected all the wiring to the front of the bike and removed the old harness completely
