tachometer
Hi there I have a question about the tach from a 94.
How come there are only 2 wires going to the tach since most tachs normally have 3 wires attached to them?
I'm using the tach for another bike I'm working on (yamaha) and it has 3 wires.

hi Chris I'm talking about the tachometer only. It's mounted in the middle of the cluster on most bikes there are 3 wires that hook up to the tachometer from the harness. On the tach for a 93-95 900rr there us 2 wires leading to the actual tach.
Does anyone know if there is an internal connection between the gauges?
I tried to open the instrument panel but the know for the odometer didn't want to come lose????
Does anyone know how the **** is attached?I didn't want to brutalize it since most stuff tends to break when I do something wrong

I still don't quit get what you mean. On my 98 loom, I had a big waterproof plug that contained all the wires going into the cluster. My tach uses the yellow/ blue (or is it yellow/green, I forget) feed from the ECU. There are also three grounding wires on my cluster. It took me ages to figure out why my tach wasn't working. I finally traced it to a mislabeled ground.
What does the wiring diagram for the 93-95 say?
