Stator is screwed!!!
i have a 98 900RR. The battery is good (had it tested and it's good). I disconnected the stator connection from the R/R and it is like fried. I haveread alot about testing everything and it points to a dead stator.Would a fried stator plug damage the R/R? I plan on taking my bike to the Dealer on Friday and let them look at it and tell me what the deal is (not do the work, but check it out and tell me what i have to do). I know someone who knows the guy who knows the guy, type of thing. I really don't want them to do ****, cause you know what they are capable of doing.
80 dollars an hour for labor.
where can i get a stator? and who has the best? stock or aftermarket? Should i be looking into getting a R/R too?
Let me know.

Just read a similar thread and the one guy said ElectroSport has better, longer-lasting stators available. I'm about to replace mine (just in case) and I'm going to try them. Price for 93-97 was $139. I also want to get a new R/R, but ES doesn't make them, so I'll need to do a proper search. Sorry about the fried potatoes...
here are 2 people to try, CHAPLIN KAWASAKI for the Stator (860-455-1233) approx $140, and fast bikes inc for R/R approx $120. i have both fitted as new on my 94 and working better than thought. R/R is a performance type, not like the OEM or German version, gives more power due to larger electronics. sorry dont have number for fastbikes.
