My speedo has been doing something funny ever since I bought my bike, it reads way bellow what it supposed to be reading and it's always jumps around. Anybody else having this problem?? Is it the cluster or the sensor??

What year is your bike? That changes what your speedo is run by and where you should begin to look for the problem.

 

I had to change the sensor wire near the gear lever and its work perfectly after that. The symptom was exactly the same like yours but this problem could be because of other things too. Maybe the speedo itself can malfunction either.

 

It's a 95 cbr, I though it would be the sensor, but that sucker is $100+ so I want to make sure that its the problem before I go and buy one. I'll look at the wire, make sure it's ok though.

It would be much easier to check if you have a partner with the same bike. You can try out his sensor on your bike and can be determined what is the actual problem.
