Default SLack?

How muchchain slack should i have im putting new sprkets on -1 in the front +2 in th rear. i try and stunt some and want to more. and i liek to fly down the express ways soo what do you guys sugest. its a 98 900RR thanks guys

1/2 inch is what i keep it at. let me know how you like the new gearing compared to stock.

an inch... u got to keep in mind.. to check the slack after you sit on the bike, u should have atleast a half of inch after u sit down

at least a inch because it gets tighter as you hit bumps or even sit on your bike.right now i have about 1 and 1/4 and it works out right for me.remember to find the tightest section of your chain to set the slack.

You want 20 - 30 mm of chain slack measured midway between the front and rear sprockets below the swingarm with the bike on its sidestand. The engineers realize that the swingarm will pivot up when a rider sits on it and they factored this into the measurement. A heavier person may want to go with a little more slack, but normally, anything more than an inch is too much and may prematurely wear out your sprockets.
