Running on three cylinders
For some reason mybaby has decided to drop on to three cylinders below 3,000 RPM. This happened suddenly tonight in dry conditions? The plugs seem ok (they are a nightmare to access). So i am miffed as to what it could be?. I have only had the bike for 4 days and it is a '93 model. [&:]

RE: Running on three cylinders
Find out which one it is by pulling the wires(one at a time)and check to make sure that your actually getting spark at each plug. Instead of pulling the plug, just use a spare. Could be several things, but check this first. Once you find the cylinder that is missing, check to make sure that it's connection to the coil is good. Check the wire to make sure that it's not cracked. If it's none of those, pull the plug and see what it looks like.
Get a swivel head socket. Makes working on #1 and 4 cylinders alot easier.
Since this bike is new to you, it'll be nice to at least get in there and see what your bike is like and hopefully see that the PO took care of it.
GL postup your finds.

RE: Running on three cylinders
Run a 1/4 can of seafoam through the tank and see what happens....mine was doing that last week, plugs were fine, so my next guess was a clogged jet...I ran the can first and it cleared up, it doesnt happen immediately give it some time to work...if you want to find exactly which cylinder is dead idle the bike for a while, get the pipes hot then spray water on the header pipes, the hot ones will evaporate immediately while the dead one wont, then you know which one needs work, in my case it was no1....
