Default Questions (remember, I'm only a few days new)

I have a 1995 CBR900RR (893cc) I want to try and start before I rebuild the bike. The wife won't let me spend much money right now so any help you can give.....

What is "fireblade"? All 900rr's or just certain ones?

Does anyone have a folder of pics of building a 900rr? Pics of it in progress? (Preferably a 1995 900rr)

Is there anywhere I could download a version of any of the normal manuals (haynes, clymer, free if possible)?

I need to clean the carbs. On my carbs, the two on the left have what look like velocity stacks on the intakes but the two on the right don't. Missing parts, I assume?? Where can I get these if they're missing?

In the right handlebar, There is a "thing" (rod of some sort) inside the bar. What is it?

Where can I get a cheap header? Studs to mount to the header? Engine mount bolts (forward ones, 2 for left side, 1 for right)? A throttle assy?

I can take pics of whatever I didn't explain well.

Thanks.

A Fireblade is any CBR-RR NOT sold in America. Europe, Canada, etc. Parts? Good ol Ebay is a good place to start. Lots of stuff on there. Otherwise, buy new. My whole exhaust was like $800. Kinda pricey now that I look at that number. Check ebay. Same with the manuals. I doubt you'll be downloading them for free though.

It's in the downloads section. Just follow this link: http://www.rrzone.com/downloads/96-9...hop_Manual.pdf

It's '96 to '99 though. I remember it covering some things from the earlier models that weren't the same as the later ones. And some things are the same.

i got the full D&D exhaust for only $350 off ebay. the same seller usually prices them at $500 on ebay which is still 2-300 below what it should be priced at if u went to a shop, but once in a while they have bad *** deal's and let them go for cheap.

I guess I'll field the other questions since nobody else did...

The bar thing... Um, well there are bar end weights that go at the end of each handle bar. The are secured with a long thin bolt that screws into the inside of the handle bar.

Yes, you're missing the velocity stack doodads. They should each have them. Go to www.ronayers.com and you can order ANY part brand new. Their part schematics are also helpful in case you need to see how something assembles.

Throttle assembly... Local bike wrecking yard, ebay, or www.ronayers.com. The throttle assemblies (on the handle bar, that's the part you're talking about right?) for the Hondas seem pretty interchangeable. I'm 99% sure you can swap the throttle off an F3 and put it on a 900RR. Same with a 954 onto a 900RR. Reason why I say so is because I've seen friends swap parts off of one bike onto another. My friend John has an F3 track bike and a 900RR street bike, for example. If I remember correctly, he swapped the kill switch buttons on them when he wrecked his track bike.

Studs & bolts... Ace Hardware.

Pictures... Not me. I had the head off yesterday, and should have taken pictures before I buttoned it back up and bolted the engine back into the bike earlier today. I also could have found out what size the mounting bolts are. I don't want to take them off too many times because I'm deathly afraid of stripping out the holes, especially after having to helicoil TWO head bolts' holes. www.ronayers.com will probably have the bolt specs (dimensions and thread pitch) if you look it up. That's how I know the head bolts are M9 (which Ace Hardware doesn't sell, by the way. M8 and M10 they do though). I would guess M10 though. If Ron Ayers doesn't tell you, then buy one M10 bolt and see if it fits. If it does, then get 2 more. If it doesn't, then you know it's either M8 or M12, and you're out $0.40 and you have a bolt you'll probably end up using some other time. Get bolts for the exaust. Studs are a pain in the ***.

Thanks all for the help. I'll try the manual link when I get home. Collecting parts seems to be a fun ordeal. Especially with as cheap as I am.
