Default Pod filters

Any of you guys use pod filters? I have a K&N filter and I am wanting to go with pods as to free up some space in the under the tank. Any of you guys go from K&N filter to Pods? If so, was there a lot of carb adjustments you had to make???

If you ran pods without an airbox to "free up some space" you'd definitely need to rejet. Also, K&N filters are more restrictive than stock. Google it. You're better off with disposable stock paper filters.

We ran the following tests regarding air filters on a stock 929 with OEM exhaust, Hindle bolt on and Hindle full system:

OEM filter 3 runs:

OEM Exhaust best run: 121.5
Hindle bolt on best run: 124.0
Hindle full system best run: 133.5

K&N 929 replacement filter:

OEM Exhaust best run: 119.0
Hindle bolt on best run: 121.0
Hindle full system best run: 129.5

"Whacked" filter (all paper removed, both screens remained)

OEM Exhaust best run: 124.5
Hindle bolt on best run: 127.5
Hindle full system best run: 137.0

900'a, 929's and 954's all use the same air filter

OK... that is what I needed to know. It already has a jet kit in it, so I can adjust it. I was just wondering if it was going to be necessary or not before hand.

so what would you recomend forfor a filter when putting in a big jet? alot of websites from what ive seen in the past do recomend the k&n pod filters but what i have heard from the shops adound here is they are a B! tch to tune and k&n does have everyone wrapped around their finger. im not saying their filter is bad by any means. sooo maybe oem filter and cutting air box? that is another thing i've read online and am curious on it all. but maybe im over thinking it idk
