Default Parts swap

I bought a 97 CBR 900 for $2g's from a buddy that said it was a bad *** running bike....dropped, stretched and painted, seemed fair. Two weeks later, another buddy borrows it to take his wifey out riding with all our friends since i had plans, and when he brings it home, itsclickity-clackin! I've got it all torn down, just gotta finish seperating the cases to get the crank out and change the bearings....yeah, helluva way to spend upwards of $4g's now, and its sitting in pieces.....bummer....
questions:
Can a 1000 motor be dropped in and on the fairing, what years will interchange? Also, can the rear frame assembly be changed to a newer 929 or 1000 rear frame to put updated rear fairing on? Thanks for all the help and info!

Well, it seems to be more work thanI amready for fight now, since iIwant to ride again before the weather turns crappy. My wifey told me to bring the bike and motor home from my remodeling businesses shop so we can work on it together. She wants to get comfy on the bike, so once she's paid made another year or so of payments off on the G35 she can get a new GSX-F650 and ride too.
