Default Paint Question

I am getting ready to paint my bike but have aquestion first. I plan to use an adhesion promoter. Should I still prime or just go straight to paint?

Always use a good primer. In your case one coat may be all that's needed, but I always prime.

yeah, PPG makes a flexible surfaces primer that comes in a rattle can or you can get straight for your gun. It's really very good on the plastics. I used that and then a coat of the epoxy primer which is supposedly a little more flexible than standard primer. Good luck with it. I actually never got around to finish coating the bike (I know, i've heard it from all my friends) because its not a show bike and I like the matte look so I can personally guarantee that both of the coats adhere very well and have shown no signs of degradation.
