One thing nice about having a 900rr
The nicest thing? User friendliness.. On my second ride on my bike with Team Superbike Panama when we stopped I asked "why are you all going so slowly?" Turns out everyone was going just as silly fast as usual, just that I wasnt on an underpowered machine..
Over the last few months I have been without a sportbike (and my previous sportbike was a Yamaha FZ600 of 1986 vintage) and have been blagging rides on all kinds of impressive machinery, Yamaha R6 and R1's, Kawasaki ZX6's, 636's and 10's, and a few mind bending rides on a tricked out 07 CBR1000RR. Even the odd Duc..
Sure my bike is no 1000RR, but the guy who owns it had this to say "Jew ear won qweek beach.." (you are a quick bitch) when he pulled in a few seconds behind me last sunday..
The 900 is almost relaxing at superlegal speeds - leave it in 6th and work from 8-11000rpm. And I cant help grinning when I blow past those manic 600's on the straight bits. What a change of events, as I am used to wringing the neck on my 600 and carrying way too much speed in the corners to keep at the back of the pack. But then how rewarding to actually overtake someone through the twisties..
I have to work on filling up the boot though.. So far its home to my licence plate, a copy of the title, a lighter and some Marlboro's.
Oh, and everyone and his dog wants to ride it. So far I have said No.
