i just recently picked up a 97 cbr900rr(project bike). ive been working on it a little over a week now, replacing parts as i go along. today i was finally able to start the bike. it was sitting for i believe 2yrs or so...... when i finally got it to idle, the engine made a lot of noise. i know that a little bit of noise is normal, but i was pretty concerned!!! i checked it for oil pressure and to my surprise there was none what so ever. i pulled the oil filter off and there was oil in it. tomorrow i am going to check the oil pump. i would greatly appreciate anyones thoughts on my problem...... perhaps someone else has been in this situation??

Did you screw around with the inner clutch basket? If that is not on properly, the oil pump will not be driven--hence no oil pressure. Oil pressure at idle should be around 40 psi and 80 and WOT.
