I just got my cage on my 01 f4i. Well I wanted to see where the cage would touch when I laid it down. So I GENTLY set it down on its left side with the engine off. And picked it back up. NEVER STARTED THE ENGINE. So abt 20 minutes later I go to start up the bike and the oil light is staying on.[:@] Checked the oil and it is full. So Im thinking its the oil pressure. I have been told by a couple of guys to start it and let it run for abt 20 secs but I dont want to lock my engine. So Im kinda at a crossroads. Any help would be appreciated.

 

sounds like you may have gotten oil in your airbox/ intake. Did you do the kleen air mod yet?

I'd say put it on a stand, in gear... rotate the tire a few times to make sure the combustion chamber is good... and fire it up

 

so it shouldnt lock up? And will it do this every F'n time it falls over ?[:@]

 

shouldn't lock up. should rotate freely. The point of the Kleen air mod is to prevent oil from ever being able to get into your airbox, and into your combustion chamber, so prevents hydro lock.

don't know why your light is on this time. it shouldn't be.

Bikes can be fickle though. Is the light blinking? or just on?

Only thing that can happen with the kleen air mod, is it reroutes the oil to your exhaust, so you it can burn off in the exhaust... thick smoke... but bike is ok.

The light coming on after a tip over isn't normal though. shrug.

on stuntlife Ive heard others have this problem. They say they just pick up and hurry and start it while everything is soaked in oil. So.... Idk? But I appreciate the help.

 

mabey you loosened a sensor connection and it is just complaining.

 

yeah.. im not sure. Im gonna mess with it this weekend.

 

I've tipped mine over a few times w/o the air mod and have never had this prob. I also run about 1/2qt over so maybe that makes a diffrence. Is it still doing it?
