First, this is a great forum you guys have here.

This is my first Honda streetbike, I am coming off a 89 Yami FZR 1000. Still a great bike but parts are hard to find and she's getting old.

I am purchasing a 99 900rr and would like to ask a few ?'s

Drivability/longevity issues that need to be addressed?
I like high mount pipes but I am having difficulty locating one for this bike.
Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Well, as for longevity and maint issues...........change the oil and add gas. Basic maint is all that is needed. I bought my 99 with just under 6k on it and sold it at 28k. It ran better as it went this much I'm sure of. Bullet proof. The only thing I had to replace besides the consumables was the petcock diaphram as it ripped. Otherwise, maint free.
As for the high mount.......I'm not sure. Check Leo Vince or Micron. Otherwise, I'm of no help there man. Good luck.

 

I've seen a high mount two bros on a late model 900rr but it isn't listed on their website. Give them a call to see if that's offered. Otherwise, you can always fabricate... can't be that hard!
