Sparking on its own is defective ignition unit.

Are You talkin about the CDI box , or (spark box) ? Or the ignition switch ?

Ah, it's what Honda calls ICM - ignition control module. I don't think anyone's used CDI since '80s. It's all inductive ignition now.

Right , I know what You mean , but it is an 88 model lol from what I've been reading on it Honda calls it a spark box for this particular bike for some reason not sure why , unless it's not a capacitor discharged ignition (CDI) I've been a Motorcycle Mechanic since I was a Kid , but not familiar with this bikes electrical system... You wouldn't happen to know where I could find a shop manual for it would You ? It's a 1988 CBR1000F Hurricane
