Okay heres the deal i put new jets in and cleaned the carbs on sat...... Bike ran great!!!!! Sunday went to the hills for some corner action, on the way up i started hearing a diff noise it was a low rattle didnt mind it much and kept riding about 25 min later it got louder and louder... started to get worried so went to pull over and down shifted when i did this i hit some higher rpms and then out of nowere clank clank clank.... think the bike blew the engine.... It does run and without any smoke but has bad knock now!!!!! Any ideas....Pistons????? Rods???? dont know what to do i am hurtin!!!!!!! any and all advise helps!!!!!!!!

 

Don't run it until you or a mechanic can open up the engine.

Only way to know

 

Heck no not running it at all as a matter of fact had my friend ride his busa 3 hrs back to town to get the truck!!!! was a long day got burned sittin on the mountain waitin!!

 

Check your number 3 con rod big end bearing, might be laying in a pile in the oil pan, just happened to a friend of mine.

 

Maybe your neice had open up the oil cap and dropped her mom's key.. haha j/k

Sounds problemto me... Damaged had been done.

Check your engine oil level.What about the temprature?

I had the same problem last year (don't want to recall it) but mine was worse. Complete stop, can't start. Shafts, rods and some other transimission parts gone due to engine oil lacking. Changed the engine altogether.
