Default Need Help With 99 900RR

I would like to convert my front rim size from a 16 inch to a 17 inch?
I have heard that the CBR 600F3 or CBR 600 F2 is a direct bolt on, but do I have to use 900RR
rotors or do I have to get f3 rotors.

You are going to get about 100 different answers. I did NOT do the swap on my bike, but I did consider it. It is an F3 rim or a VFR rim of the same era. An F2 will NOT work. I measured everything off of a friends F3 while it was next to my 99 900RR and this is what I found. It would take the rotors, spacers, axel from the 900RR and the rim from the F3 and it would bolt right on. The rotors will bolt to the F3 rim and from there, just put it on. Again, I didnt actually DO the swap so I cant say for 100%, but according to measurements, it should slide right on. I think a lot of the problems are people getting taken on the rim and end up getting an F2 rim at F3 prices. That is just my opinion. Some one on here has certainly done it and I'm sure they'll chime up. Good luck.

What Gixxer said is right, except that you may have to add an additional spacer (washer) to each side of the wheel. Most of the people I've talked to about the swap have told me that they either had to make longer spacers (machine shop) or add washers to each side (for the 98 and 99).

Other than the spacer deal, just transfer everything from the 900RR wheel to the F3 or VFR wheel.

My bike is a 97, so everything, including the spacers, from the 900RR, transfered right over to the F3 wheel, and bolted up.
