My CBR is Death!!
I was driving to school this morning and my bike just turned off on me just out of the blue! I had to end up calling my wife to go and pick me up and my pops to help me load the bike on the back of his truck. (We didn't have a ramp and my baby is heavy!! lol)
Well anyway, it seems my bike is not getting any voltage anywhere. I ended up asking my wife to bring a new battery to put it in there but it is still not doing anything. My friend was telling me that it may be the voltage regulator but I'd rather ask the experts. (The people from the CBR forum.) I charged the bike with my brothers car a week ago so I think I may have burned the voltage regulator but it was working just fine for a week. Why didn't the voltage regulator burn after I jump started my bike with his car? Is there any way I can check the voltage regulator to see if it works? What else can be wrong with it if the voltage regulator is not the problem? Let me know what you guys think so I can get my baby back in the road! Thanks!

Check main fuse first, and work from there. It is usually coupled with the starter relay
(or close by). After that, if you have power, start inspecting the harness (from the
battery out), looking for any loose, faulty connections. That's probably what caused
your fuse to blow.
Let us know if that does the job, if not, we can help you with further ideas/suggestions.

How does the r/r connector look? If you are blowing the main fuse repeatedly,
you probably have something else wrong besides a bad r/r. The charging issue
may be a toasted r/r, but that usually doesn't cause fuses to blow.
Here's a good diagnostic prosedure for the charging system...

Look that over before investing in something that might not fix your problem.
Ge back after you check it out.
Hope this helps, Ern
