My freind is looking at a 98 900 ... the guy who is sellin it says it a cali motor or something how can i look up the motor #?

The CA motors have a crapload of extra hoses on them, and the exhaust header is black. Other than those two differences, I don't know anything external. They've also got different cams.

?

how would you know if he parted it together from a stolen bike can i run the motor #s some how?
