Default Michelin Pilot powers for 93 900rr

Anyone find a place that sells the pilot powers for the 16" front wheel?

Nope. I've looked, and nothing. The best I can come up with is Qualifiers. They come in 16, otherwise you are pretty much stuck with "sport" tires. M-1, M-3, Diablo (not corsa) etc.

Michelin does not make them trust me I have looked every where. That one reason that I am considering going to a 17" front rim.

I'm having the same problem finding good tires for my '93 RR. i did a lot of research and it looks like the best tire for the street, and maybe a couple of track days, is the metzeler sportec m3.

i tried running a pilot sport in the front and a pilot power in the rear. the power was a lot softer. the front of the bike felt like it wanted to washout. in theory, you would want to run the softer tire in front. it's better to have the rear slide than to lowside.

running a 17' wheel in the front isn't practical for the '93 and '94. they have a speedo gear on the front wheel. '95-up have the speedo coming off the tranny, same as the f3/vfr. anyway, historically these bike corner better with the 16" wheel. the 130mm tire gives you more cornering grip. and the 16" wheel has less rotational inertia.

hope this info helps. if anyone is running the sportec m3 let me know what you think..........

if i don't run a speedo on my 93 would i still be better off with the 16" wheel? if i were to switch to a 17" wheel would the loss in cornering be noticeable?

I'm gonig to get the new Dunlop qualifiers, they make them in our sizes with the 16" front, and there supposed too be almost just as good as the pilot powers.

yeah I am planning on the same thing for my 900 i have actually heard that a 17" makes the 900s corner like they are on rails. My bike is pretty squirly in the corners. A friend of mine did it to his 95. All he had was great things to say about it.
