Metzler M3's vs. Michelin Pilot powers
anyone ridden both these tires??, im hitting alotta track days next spring/summer and i dont knowwhat tire to go with, i havehad Metzler M1's there a great street tire, hold up very well in the twisty's and i currently have just the michelin pilots, and im not to fond of them, i find inhard corners it doesnt takemuch toget the *** end toslide, whats your guys opinion?
M3's are supposed to be more sticky, while increasing mileage 25% over M1s! Pilot powers would be best for street, sport touring and may be casual track I believe. More like all round stuff (I havent owned a set but currently have their predecessor, pilot sport). That's what my research told me when I bought my M3s after sliding going straight (moderate acceleration) on 5 yr old pilot sports.
I'm really looking forward to being more at peace riding with the M3s... as soon as I find a way to get the tire change done below 150 bucks

havent been on the pilot powers, but i have the M3 Sportecs now and they are great tires. have done a half day at the track on them and they are great- didnt get lose on me once. dont get too much track time though, so i cant offer a great analysis of them. all i can say is they havent disappointed me yet.
if you're going to do beginner group then PP is good, if running intermediate...and you're at the rear of the pack, then PP will do, but if you're in the middle better go with track tire...or tire mostly for track like the corsa.
