Default loosing fuel

Hi to all.
This morning I tried to fire up my CBR900RRV and found out that there was gasoline in the floor.
Checked everything and there was a lick from a black plastic box behind the carburators, connected to them by a duct.
It seamsn also that the two parts of that plastic box are moving, as if I had lost some screws that hold them together ??
I don“t know what is the function of this box, and never heard about this kind of problem before.
I will try to check it out tonight, so if any of you can give me some ideas today I“ll really appreciate them.
Thanks in advance!
Take care.

Had you overfilled your bike that night before?
Has anyone been around your bike as to where the overflow of fuel could have been rocked out?
Has the fuel spot happened since?
Have any other problems resulted in the lick area you spoke of since the fuel finding?

Ask yourself these questions. I hope they help!

Check your fuel petcock valve. It could come loose and leak fuel that way. That happened to me before. It's easy enough to tighten back up.

Thanks for the comments.
I took a look and i found that there was a leack from that black plastic box in the back of the carburators. It has a little filter inside, seams to be an auxiliar air filter. That filter was broken, so I replaced it with foamy material, similar to the stock filter.
Then Took off the tank, oppened the air filter case and it was dirty. tried to buy a new one, but Honda here in Porto Alegre city (3.000.000 people living here and more bikes than flyies) and they don“t have CBR parts !![:@] Can you believe it ??? I“ll wright an email to Honda Japan with my comments for that! Does any of you have the direct email address for Honda ? I must complain about this!
Well, cleaned the a. filter first with gasoline, then leavet dry and washed with water and detergent, leave it dry on the sunlight and "Voila", inside the bike again.
Then I started the bike, and took her to the freeway, full throthle and that leack was gone. Seams that one carburator was dirty or comething, and the fuel level wasn“t closing the entering of gasoline. [:'(]
Well, the problem was sorted and the bike runs fine again.

thanks agains and take care !
