ok, u guys with a 1995 900...i know its air cooled bike .. while iam in slow traffic or stoped at a stop light for a certain amount of time, the needle goes way in the red .. the fan will only cut on when the needle is all the way right into the red area. is this bad .. i mean the fan cuts on .. the bike goes to cold while riding, i guess honda changed the set up after 95?? iam new to this. thanks

 

It's liquid cooled, not air cooled. Hardly Ablesons are air cooled.

Sounds normal. The '98 has a digital thermometer, so I can't speak for a numberless analog gauge, but the fan does kick on at a pretty high temperature. 200something.
