Oh I guess I have no idea how to attach a pic...

Maybe I can make the pic my avatar...

By the way, I can only find 5 gears and the previous owner (who's had the bike most of it's life) when I asked "does this have six gears?" He said "It's just five gears."

But when I look up specs they say 6 gears. 5th gear at about 6k rpm equals about 75 mph???
one down and five up.. right???

Yes it's six. It's six of course. I just couldn't really tell the difference from 5th to 6th at first. If I'm doing about 60 in 5th It'll only drop about 1k rpm when I shift to 6th. I'm just getting used to it. So much fun riding this bike.

I have a 1996 cbr900rr. Its my first street bike, and I got it for free in may from a trucker who stops in at my ryder shop all the time to get work done on his tractor. I get along with the guy real good and he just offered to give it to me. Couldn't refuse. Only had 4800 on it at the time and didnt run. Had set for about 4 years. Had to tear into the carbs and I rejet them. Put new plugs in and synced the carbs and she runs like she should now.

Wish I could post a picture. Get compliments on it everywhere I go. It really is an awesome looking 900 and Im pretty proud of it. Turns my weekly routine of paying about 80 dollars in diesel for my pickup to about 10-15 in gas haha.

your still in moderation. im pretty sure thats what they call it..
anyway you'll be out soon enough and then you'll be able to post as much as you want..
in the meantime, you can use websites like photobucket if you really want to show us your ride.. just ad the picture to photobucket and then bring the image code back here and post it.. we'll be able to see what you have immediately.
and nice story, i enjoyed it. i wish someone would give me a similar opportunity. thats awesome 4500 mile???
