Default Help me !!!! 900rr starting problem

[INDENT]I have a 1997 CBR 900rr that i can't get to start. the plugs we're fouled, so i changed them out with very little results. after i changed them out it started once with no problem, then it wouldn't start anymore after that. i also put a new battery in, but it still won't start. when i go to start it i turn the key and gas on and pull the choke. when i push the start button it'll turn over, but then it'll start backfiring and shooting a flame out the pipes. Could someone please give me some suggestions so i can get my bike running ? thanks for your input into this problem !!!!!

I know it sounds stupid, but were your plug wires re-installed in the correct firing order?

Hmmmm. Backfiring while cranking usually means the timing is off. New plugs mean fouling isn't making misfire an option.. Too little gas form clogged jets would make it not fire, then fire…. I'll pick my brains here for a bit…..

Giving some details about the history of bike will help members help you..... Did you just purchase bikes. What happened before bike die out? Was it sitting for long time? If so, How long...how did you find out plugs are foul? Did seller advise you? Did you save your old plugs? How they look? Any other related problems?
