Help with 1992 cbr900rr suspension.
Hi all
New to this forum, and still finding my way around it. I致e posted a couple items already, and only just realised I should have put them on the cbr900rr forum......DOH!!! Anyway, I知 based in the U.K. I have recently got my hands on a 1992 900rr which someone has tried to turn into a street fighter. It has a few minor issues and one major one-the suspension痴 knackered!
The front forks might be ok with some new springs and oil but the rear shock is very unresponsive/dead. I have tried to adjust the rebound/compression/ etc.. on the forks and rear shock to no avail. I intend to service all of the suspension linkages and head/wheel bearings over the winter, I just need some advice on the best way to sort out the forks and shock. Do I go for a rebuild? Do I get new units? Are there parts from other bikes that will bolt on without too much grief? I mainly want the bike for street riding and the odd blast down to the coast in the summer. I weigh around 14 stone (88 kg according to google) I知 not looking to break the land speed record! Just want a bike that handles well and is kind to my back and kidneys! Any advice would be greatly appreciated. BTW, I知 not looking to get the bike back to stock-I quite like the look of it and the riding position as it is.
Thank you all -peace.
