Default Having Issues With My Starter

So the other day I was out riding and as I came to a stop I noticed my starter motor was still engaged while the engine was running and I was in first with the clutch all the way in.

I played around with it a little bit and noticed that once my clutch made it to the friction point where my bike would almost start moving forward the starter would disengage.

Fast forward to yesterday. I went to try and start my bike and after I pressed the button in, I got one click and then nothing. I the proceeded to pull the clutch in and shift into first with the engine off, and the engine turned on once the transmission was in first.

I shifted back to neutral and let the engine warm up a bit, and then turned the key to off. I was going to try again and see if it was just a fluke. I proceeded to turn the key to on with the transmission in neutral, and the engine started up without me hitting the starter button.

Any suggestions? Just ask if you want to hear something more specific.

Thanks for any help.

Well I figured it out. My Kill/Starter Switch cluster somehow got some mad frays on the wires. Now i just need to buy some new wires. I am looking at this.

1997 HONDA CBR 900RR CBR900 KILL START SWITCH on eBay!

Would that fit on a 98 900RR?

According to the Honda microfiche, they are the same part.
