Default getting ready for new race season project

We put the 17"white wheel on the front and it did not match the rest. I have been changing my mind several times. I was going to do a black/white scheme to match my suit and do a Falco theme bike(falco racing gear is a sponsor). The drawings turned out to look like an Orca whale :-) . Stripping and repowdercoating the wheels would also put me over budget. Then me and my friend sat down and went over several options and now we are going with a white yellow flow thru design to match the front and rear wheels. Got the dents in the tank fixed and 1st coat of primer on to find all the flaws. Today will be spent wet sanding, fixing the flaws and repriming. Will repost as it progresses. Forgot to add I removed stock head peice and went with a much lighter racing head peice.

Default drawings I did

No I don't have a pic program on my computer so I had to draw/scan/print and color it..thanks to my daughter for her art set :-)/
If I had the money and time I would pull the wheels and repowdercoat them. and do red/yellow. See the black/white...yuck! Its going to look close to the yellow/white drawing with red pinstripe.

There was 2 good sized dents and several small dings in the tank..looking good! Spent 2 weeks on the tank alone..and thanks to my wife for the new propane shop heater for christmas so I can do this! Its a heavy duty construction heater. Those oem stickers were a pain to remove. they are under the clear coat..so I had to hand sand the clear coat off then use my heat gun to loosen them up and slowly peal them off.

last year I did taste of racing and track day. This year I am going to do race school and hopefully become novice with OMRRA. I beleive the class is senior open. The bad thing is that the 2000 FI bikes are eligible this year..its all about having fun any way. The red bike next to me put a camera on to film me. It is a 600. I just put brand new tires on and no warmers. 3 laps later coming out of turn 9 I opened her up and lost him.
Omrra is basicly club racing at Portland International Raceway. Once I get liscensed with OMRRA it carries over to WMRRA (washington). for a total of 3 tracks. Portland oregon, Seattle wa. and spokane wa. With taste of racing you are restricted to no passing in turns 7,8,9. I was running 130's on the one track day I was pullin' low to mid 120's. To qualify for novice I have to break 119. jet kit and school should help.

I was just curious. I race with WERA so I thought I might run into you one day. I did my rider's school on my 94 900, but my regular bike is an FZR400.

Good luck and have fun. I'm sure you will!

Checked out WERA. What a full schedule. Do you have the SRA guys run the same weekends you do??? (side car association). My buddy Donn Is running his own car this year(see photo). It kinda sucks up in the NW we are held to 7 months. April to oct. and at least 3 of the weekends it rains at least 1 day. the photo of #69 is the car he was monkey on for 2010 with Hans.
Do you race the full schedule at WERA?

Man this is frustrating!!! There is only one shop in SW washingtonb that mixes paint in cans for you. I spent an hour going thru 3 books trying to match the yellow of the rear wheel. Finally gave up and decided after talking to my body shop friend to repaint the rear wheel. So I picked chrome yellow..very bright and vibrant..should really stand out. In this photo you can't really see it but in daylight it is freakin' lime greenish. The wife is great at colors and I explained that I still had to 1000 grit and polish the paint before clearcoating to get the "Gloss". She said no..the paint itself is all wrong. $20 a can and they are closed on sundays. I know get an air filter for my compressor and get a good paint gun..o.k. next winter. I wanted to finish all the base coats and get it all polished out this weekend!!! Clear it after work tommorow! NOT!

Have you checked with www.colorrite.com for the paint color? I think the yellow you are referring to is Pearl Shining Yellow in the link below.
