I don't know if this has anything to do with the shift forks, but when bike is idling in neutral, there is loud chatter in the engine, like it's trying to engage the gear, when I hold the clutch in, no problem. When riding, 1st and second gear are fairly heavy when going into gear. The clutch was replaced not so long ago, don't know if this has anything to do with it. The bike runs fine otherwise, no engine or gearbox noise. What does everyone think?

i just went threw the same prob. with my 1999 900 i striped the engine down and some of the gears and bearings were wiped out. i hope this helps.
