Default front suspension help

hi all, i'm semi new to the forums(had an account before but forgot all my info lol). any how i have a bit of a dileamma, my fork seals started to go bad on me and like a knuckle head i didn't take care of it right away. so know i'm faced with getting my front forks rebuilt or to attempt an upgrade if its possible. thats really my question then, can i fit my 96 honda CBR 900RR with a newer fork set up? where it would just bolt right up? i'm trying to gather as much info as possible before i attempt the repair(unfotunaetly my regular mechanic moved away). the stealership wants a horrific amount to do a rebuild with my forks and i'm positive i can find a better price and equipment(newer tech) for half of what they quoted me. thanks in advance for the great advice

Hi there,

i think you can use al the forks up the '99 model but i don't know if you can use your old disc's and calipers because the 98/99 models uses 310mm disc's and you have 296mm disc's on it

ok thats good to know, i'm prepared to do a full rebuild of my front end. i'm kind of safety cautious lol! so upgrading my brakes is an expense i'm willing to pay for!

You can't use the disc as if you decided to go for the 98/99. I changed the rim, disc, fork top clamp and the forks as well.
