front blinker question
[:'(]I was trying to wire up a pair of after market blinkers last night but just could not get it right.
The problems started when i noticed that when you take the factory blinker off it has three wires leading from it a (1) positive running light (1) positive for the blinker and (1) negative ground wire. Now the set of blinkers that i purchased were suspose to be universal meaning they could be used with either a two or three wire set up. I on the other hand could not get this to work to save my life, I went through 5 fuses and three hours trying to get this right. Could someone please explain to me what in the world i am doing wrong here.
I know that the wire code on the left blinker is baby blue, another is baby blue with a white stripe and the third wire is green.
On the right side the wire code colors are solid orange, orange with either a red or white stripe and i think a solid red wire.
Please people tell me what i am doing wrong i want to put my blinkers on before bike weekend. [:'(]

RE: front blinker question
I had this same problem on the right side and ended up burning 3 fuses and frying the wire bundle. Mine turned out to be a shorted wire inside the after market blinker. I ended up putting inline fuzes and connectors on the wires and it has worked fine since. You may also want to check the turn signal relay. If all else fails go with what shifty said and just use hand signals. Sorry couldn't be more help.

RE: front blinker question
I'm not sure what color is what but you should be able to test for it and if I get achance I'll look at mine but no promises.
Turn the key on
One wire should have a constant power which is used to have your front lights on all the time you don't need that one
When you turn your blinker on you should have power you need that one
And the one that is left over is your ground
I hope this helps and I'll try and look at mine but no promises
