fork oil
I'm installing new fork seals on my 93 rr this weekend and was wondering what type of fork oil I need to put back in it(weight, brand)and how much.I wheelie this bike constantley, and was wondering what the HEAVY DUTY stuff is
$220 is a bargain. It's around $300-$400 here. It is relatively difficult as I understand it but moreso time consuming. I don't know what fork oil you should use. I would also like to know as I have the same problem.
fork seals are easy with general knowledge....go to the how to forum and searchf4i fork seals there is a dude that broke it down with pics. its not for the rr, but its pretty much the same. forks are forks on honda rockets
Onewheel: 10w fork oil should do - go to the dealer and buy honda fork oil - at my dealer the prices are actually the same or less than the aftermarket type shops - but any good brand will do. Find out the factory spec on the weight.
Keep in mind - fork oil is not just to absorb the shock of touching down wheelies, it affects the suspension for all the riding you do. You could go to a little heavier weight and give it a try - but you are probably always going to blow fork seals if you want to do wheelies.
Changing the seals is not that difficult if you have some wrench sense - consider getting the factory work shop manual for your bike - a must if you are going to do your own work. It will seem difficult the first time, but after you do it once it will all make sense and be easier next time round. At $200-400 I would learn to do it myself
.
Hope this helps!
