I got mine today, and am planning on starting on it Saturday. My question is when you put it on did you actually take off the valve cover to adjust it or use another method?
Or SpiritRR have you got yours on yet? Any tips?
No, I haven't. I found some bodywork that really, really needed me to buy them and since it snowed a bunch over the weekend, the CCT got bumped down the list. C'mon Crazy, give it up. I sure hope the lid stays right where it is, though, I get really nervous when I take the carbs off, it's like all of a sudden a magnetic force field erupts and sucks in everything too small to get back out of the intakes before I can cover them.
Well, I had my engine out when I installed it , but as far as adjusting it goes, If I remember correctly, I backed it all the way out, the started taking it in real slowly, untill it picked up the slack. Started it, and adjusted it while it ran.... If possible I beleive this is the best way, but I have easy access to mine while it runs, I'm not sure about you. But thats what I did man, adjusted it while it was runnin then dabbed some blue locktite on it and locked it down.

A little bit of both, but primarily by sound. And if ya can, make sure your able to get ahold of it before it runs too long. Once you start it, it will slowly back out while its running. Start your bike with one hand, and the other hand on the CCT. Keep us posted

Does it make a different sound when its to tight compared to to loose?
Absolutely, I was able to hear a sweet spot really, It'll chatter like hell if its too loose, as far as too tight, I'd say use your best judgement.Really pay attention to what your feeling in your hand/wrench while its running. Let the motor talk to ya.
