The bike runs like a damn top really, full power in all gears through the whole power band. I THOUGHT I was hearing chain slap so I just swapped in a manual CCT and (other than an idle snap on the throttle which gives an audible catch in the cam chain, im still not sure if thats normal) the cam chain is quiet, no misfiring, and rides like it should. The valve train is loud, I can hear it chattering over the sound of the engine and exhaust. Is that normal? I've tuned honda engines (cars) and valve train noise was a totally normal thing, they all had a cam tick from the VTEC lobe and it was something you just learned to accept and ignore. Are these bikes the same in that some valve chatter is just normal? I topped off the oil earlier (I was about .5quart low) and the chatter persisted. Just being ****?
