Default Electric starter not working

Hi guys!! To get straight to the point, my friend picked up a 95 fireblade. We rebuilt the carbs on it and got it running again, but while I was gone he was messing with it and accidentally spilt something on the starter. The starter stopped turning over. Now, after replacing the (apparently) seized starter, it still will not work. The button appears to do absolutely nothing to the starter but when you flip it to the "on" position, the fuel pump primes. Can anyone point me in the right direction?? Any help is appreciated

Did you check the starter fuse?
Check there's 12v to the starter when you hit the button?
Did you check the old starter was really seized?

I did check the starter fuse, and then checked it with a fuse checker. I assume you're talking about the one from the relay?

The old starter was very difficult to turn so we went ahead and bought a new one.

Next step then is to check you get power to the starter + terminal when you push the switch.

I'll check that out asap. How would I go about checking the terminal good sir? I apologize for my ignorance, first time with a bike this old.

I checked it, the ground is good on the starter but I'm not sure how to check the terminal

Use a multimeter to see if you get 12v at the starter when you hit the switch.

Try eliminating the starter button to see if that's the cause. Run a jumper wire straight to the starter terminal to see if the starter will engage.

set of jump leads with one end connected to a screwdriver and the other to +ve makes a great high-current probe, just don't drop it into the engine ;-)

It turned over when we took a pair of jumpers to it. Fuel pump does prime though. Could It be the switch??
