does anyone know??
Does anyone know if the 929/954 rear rim fit a 98/99 900rr? Is there alot of modification needed or any at all. Besides the fact that the 929/954 rim only has the three spokes (trying to match the front rim from a 929/954 fork, tree and rim swap) versus the six spokes of the 900rr rim.
Thanks for your time!

It's possible to fit it yes. However you will need to open out the swing arm, chain adjusters, caliper bracket and wheel spacers to take the larger axle. Also the caliper bracket will need machining to allow for the extra half inch of rim width. As the chain line must remain the same the centre of the rim will actually sit 1/4" to the right (1/4" either side of tyre centre gives your 1/2" extra width). This means that you cannot fit a 190 tyre to it. It's easier to fit a six spoke RC51 front rim the the 929/954 front end if you want the bike to look right.

Not that I'm trying to start an arguement but the 929/954 swinger will not fit....ever!! It attaches either side of the engine rather than in between the frame on the 900's....
As you say though, it's a lot of work whichever way you go. All my mods cost more than a part ex up to a 954 even!!! I like the individuality of my bike but you have to ask yourself what you really want.

My point exactly.
You're gonna stand out in a crowd (of CBR's!) but you could own a better bike for less. Unfortunetly only FireBlade buffs recognise the differences on my bike, everyone else just sees a '93 Fireblade with a nice paintjob..... I'm glad I did it but if I had the money I spent up front I would have gone for a new bike.

Thanks everyone for all the advise!! I currently have an f3 rim on the front but it is not round and I dont know if it can be straightened (pretty damn bent in different spots). I had my front end recently rebuilt also, so im gonna try tofind another f3 but dont wanna pay the ebay prices for one.... so I will keep looking!!

You can just have that wheel repaired professionally

They do rims all the time with proper equipment unlike some small metal shops. It'll be cheaper then getting 2 rims or an rc51 front rim.

You can also check locally and see if there is any place that straightens out bent rims. You won't have to ship it anywhere, it probably won't take as long, and you can support local business. My front rim was bent when I bought the bike. I couldn't let go of the handlebars without them beginning to vibrate until it was about a full-on tank slapper. I posted on a local car forum and someone popped up with the name of some obscure place that straigthened my rim out perfectly. I think it only took a day. It's perfect now.
If you really want to stand out, I wouldn't suggest a set of black Honda rims. Nobody notices those anyways. I'd suggest something aftermarket.
