I just changed mine today, got it from electrosport for $100 plus and extra $15 for the wire harness (mine was melted) got here within a week express shipped but got nailed with custom and taxes... oem at Honda was $209 without the plug and still the old crappy model. the electrosport one is bigger and has the cooling fins on it.
My bike is charging beautifully was easy and came with larger bolts as it is much bigger, the only complaint I have is the heat shrink tubes they gave were crap...the didn't even shrink. I wouldn't modify anything, I did that last year and even though my modified regulator worked for the whole summer it died last week at the wrong place and time... $115 was well spent with a warranty too... Well more then $115, but its better then oem.
Oh and don't forget the white heat transfer cream you have to put behind the regulator to help distribute heat the the subframe ex:heat shield.
