Here's how it works:
93-94 - both years use the same fairings and the same fairing stay (under the gauges)
95-97 - all three years use the same fairings and same fairing stay (under the gauges)
98-99 - both years use the same fairings and the same fairing stay (under the gauges)
The mirror stays will work with any of the fairings, regardless of year.
I converted my '93 to a '97 and then a '99. All you have to do is get the years' fairing stay, upper-front fairing and headlight. They all bolt up the same to the middle fairings. If you have simple general know-how about your bike you can do whatever you want with it! have fun.
