99 cbr 900.....
15,000 miles....



so my battery keeps dying and im not sure what the problem is....

trickle charged the battery over night.... bike started up perfect ran perfect for about 30 min.... then lights and gauges started dimming and finally had to drive home with no headlights so the bike would keep running.....


you think its the battery itself or the bikes not recharging the battery AKA alternator.....


or i redid some wiring around the battery area (could i have hooked it up wrong so its not recharging the battery....)

anyone know where to find the cbr wiring diagram.... i cant find it....

 

I would hook up a real battery charger to battery,charge at low voltage for couple hours,if you have a volt meter,watch voltage and make sure it doesnt go over 15 volts.

A trickle charger only keeps voltage at rate, that battery had charge.keeps voltage from dropping,it will not bring back a low charge.

After you charge battery,check voltage to make sure rectifier is charging battery,should read 13.5 to 14 volts.Oh and battery should charge to 12-13 volts on charger.

yeah all i have is the little trickle chargers.... charge on like 2 amps over night....

tomorrow im gonna check teh rectifier and see what kinda voltage is comin back into the battery.....
