adjusted chain, now rear brake prob.
So I adjusted my chain cause it was loose as a 2 dollar wh..... anyway now my rear brake does not have the stopping power it used to, the wheel is aligned correctly I checked and rechecked like 5 times. I used to be able to lock up the rear no problem and now I can stand on the rear brake and it wont lock up. Nothing changed but the chain adjustment. Any ideas? Also I bleed the system just for the hell of it and that changed nothing. Maybe I need to adjust the linkage or something?
Maybe you're too far out in the swingarm, just far enough that the caliper's pads aren't able to bite on as much real estate as they used to. If your two-bit 'ho of a chain is that loose, get a new one (and a new sprocket (set)).
the grooves on your pads and rotors doesn't match up anymore. give it some time and a new set of grooves should develop. it's like breaking it in again except longer. i would just get new pads.
sorry to ask, but if only adjusting the back wheel, how do the pads and disc not line up? never had a problem with min at all. i think it may be that the pads are low and the pistons have gone and locked out, or they have glazed over from being too effective.
There is no problem with the pads and rotor not lining up the caliper are on that bracket which is on the axle so it moves exactly with the wheel. I did replace the pads and rebuilt my calipers all the way around and the front works great but the back just does not have the stopping power it did, I know you dont want to lock it up and I can brake pretty hard with just my rear and not lock up but now I can't lock it up even standing on the damn pedal. Im just giving it some seating time then will mess with it later if it does not get to where I like it again...It still works just not like it used to. Thanks for all ya'lls comments

Yikes. I could be dumber...but probably not. That's the whole point of the notched slider inside the swingarm, and for running the axle through the caliper's mounting bracket.
*stands in the corner* I'll just be over here with my thumb out of sight, if anyone needs me, which you won't, cause I'm dumber than a rock. Go ahead, ask me how many master links I have on my current drive chain...g'head, ask. [&o]
don't want to sound stupid but all it takes is one good fingerprint of greese on the rotor to ruin the bite of the pads. Is there a chance that when you were messing with the adjustment you might have grabbed or touched the rotor with greesy hands? Its good to cover all the bases. Also, its been said already but you really never want the rear to lock up so it may not be a bad thing, i've never tried to lock up mine but I know if takes a lot of pressure to bring mine to a stop on a down hill with just the rear brake. Don't want to seem like I'm assuming your bad mechainci or anything just throwing out some ideas. Good luck
