Default 99 900 rr

What's up guys? I just bought a 99 cbr 900 rr. This is my first streetbike. How do these bikes stack up as far as speed with the newer bikes? For example: 99 900 rr vs. gsxr-600 or 99 900 rr vs. r-1?

dude...if this is your first street bike you shouldn't even be worrying about how it stacks up...worry first about learning your bike and what your bike is capable of...it is a 99...I have one also...and ill tell you this much...its bad *** in its own ways but don't expect to spank every bike you see with it...

+100

A 900rr for a first street bike carries a steep learning curve.

Alright calm down. I wasn't planning on racing every bike I see, just WONDERING. I've ridden a cruiser for 4 years and just got bored with it. I know a cruiser doesn't compare to a street bike, but it counts for a little something.I have full intentions of learning the bike well before trying to pushmylimits.

top speed is for non-riding pussies and the drag strip. Learn to ride the twisties n then you'll find real fun! But the 900RRs are very capable bikes. They will hold their own. I think a R1 with a skilled rider will spank a 900. But what do I know, I rarely see 100mph [:-]

I drag and I am most definately no *****...i rip turns and drag knee with an 8 in stretch on my 900...i did the twisties and granted, yes, they are good fun, i just spilled to many times and ended up having kids...so I needed to find a safer, cheaper way to get me kicks out of riding...whats safer than a closed track, straight line, and paramedics parked right there

straights are boring??? lol that was my point tho. Top speed is only kewl on a track of some sort n not on the streets

ya dont mind the non stretched 600's passing ya??? lol j/k
