Default 98 skipping

My 98 had a bad skippping problem. Changed the plugs runs a lot better now. Only problem is when you start out in 1st it kinda hesitates then once it gets going just cruising it rides fine. Then if you hit it and get to the higher end of the rpms it starts to skip again. Any help would be appreciated. Only thing off hand i could thing of is either the timing or the injectors ....Help PLease

Has it been sitting? Gas formulas change per season; summer/winter, but also gas that sits for abit will go bad. Check your air filter too.

The plugs are new? Has the bike been sitting? I would think that the carburetors are dirty (no fuel injection on your bike thus no injectors). Try running a can of Seafoam through the tank. You can get it at any auto parts store.

As long as you didint change your stock air filter with a k&n. when I changed mine I had to get my bike re jetted. It already had a foctory jet kit and a full hindle exhaust, but when I put the k&n air filter in I had to get a stage one jet kit to make up for the better air flow.
