hey does anyone know anything about cdi's? well i got a 98 cbr and the power to my ignition key switch shorted a pink wire to the cdi so i went ahead and got another one @ the junk shop but its off from a 99 cbr. i tried to start it but it wont turn over. what can the problem? pls i need any help and knowledge with this situation. thanks

 

Best bet is pick up a factory service manual if you don't have one. If you shorted out something, then chances are you blew a fuse or melted a wire. Start by checking all your fuses. Once you see they are good, then start following the wiring and see if anything is grounded out or you melted any wires.

 

i tried everything that there is that needs to checked even the service manual, but it still wouldn't start? i guess the best bet is bring the bike to a honda service shop. thanks anyways!
