Negative. I've been in Denver since Thursday. Just got back last night at 3:30am

Looks like I'm moving to Denver at the end of the month. How much will it cost for a mechanic to look over it?

 

i honestly couldn't say, but what i would guess is maybe between zero to maybe 75-100.
depending if you allow them to go digging into it and if you do allow them to go digging and dont want to repair what is broke. you'll get your bike back and probably a box of parts plus the estimate..
have you had any dealings with your local honda dealer??
also i wouldn't be too quick to tell them your situation. i would be more concern with fixing the bike and act surprised if your not willing to spend the money on fixing it, if its too much..
you know, the problem over-all is book value and unless you have a actual collectible machine, then its not going to be worth much anyway..
have you thought about what youd like to get for the bike??

 

I got it from a friend for a fairly decent price of $1,500.
At this point I'd be happy with $1,000 if it was a quick sell

I've also got a box of the old fairings that some previous owner tried to fiberglass. Some of them are good, others are trash.

Also, I have the title in hand with no issues on that part.

But I lubed the chain and the problem went away

haha thats funny... ya, well learning how to keep up with maintenance is the same for an old bike or a brand new one..
then with that being the case are you planning on taking it with you???

If I could take it with me, I would. But I already had to spend $985 on a Uhaul trailer to drive to Denver haha. Gotta try to sell as much as I can to make sure I get all the way there, and not end up stranded in Kansas or something haha. I posted it on craigslist for now... We'll see what comes of it.

 

I ended up buying the bike. The chain was in fact bad but so was the cct. Im gonna toss it in my shed for a few months because im moving to london next week but i will be back in april i think.

and good luck "kit352", you have yourself a decent bike for short money..
the only thing i would def do before storing it is: drain the tank or add a stabilizer and def drain the carbs.. these two things are very important. todays fuel will gel up in a matter of a few months. i have seen this happen and its a pain later sorting it out..
